Wax vs Coating
Every vehicle needs some level of protection against chemical staining, water staining, UV rays, etc. A vehicle without proper paint protection can result in pre-mature wear such as fading, oxidation, marring, etching, and other imperfections that can be extremely costly to repair.
So now that we know every vehicle NEEDS protection lets dive into the different types. The most common three would be wax, sealant, and ceramic coating. A wax and sealant are very similar, protect against the same elements, and last about the same amount of time. Wax has a max life of 3 months and protects only against the suns UV rays. Ceramic coating lasts anywhere from 2 years to a 8 years depending on which package you choose. A coating will also protect against staining, bird dropping stains, bug stains, light scratching, and UV rays. A wax or sealant would need to be applied a minimum of 4-5 times a year to ensure the vehicle has a level of protection at all times. This will cost you a ton of money over time or cost you a ton of money in repairs if not protected. The benefit of a ceramic coating is that once it's applied you do not have to wax again and it protects against way more elements than a wax or sealant.
